Try it free for 14 days. Card required, nothing to pay today, cancel any time.

The phone always rings at the wrong moment
You're in the middle of a job. The phone goes. You can't answer, and the caller doesn't wait. They ring the next trade on the list.
Up a ladder
One hand on the gutter, phone in your pocket. It rings out.
Under a sink
Wet hands, phone on the side. It goes to voicemail, and plenty of people won't leave a message.
Driving to the next job
You can't pick up safely. By the time you've pulled over, they've moved on.
Receptionist picks up for you, so the caller gets an answer instead of trying someone else.
How it works
You stay in charge of your phone. The receptionist only steps in when you can't.
- 01
Calls ring you first
Customers ring the number they already have, and your phone rings as normal. Take the call yourself whenever you can.
- 02
If you can't answer, the AI picks up
It tells the caller straight away that it's an AI assistant and that the call is transcribed.
- 03
It takes the details
Name, postcode and what the job is. It answers the questions you've approved and pencils the job into your calendar.
- 04
You get a text with everything
A short summary lands on your phone, and the whole call is in Keystone: the transcript, the details and any photos.
On the Catch plan there's no AI. Anyone you miss gets a text from you straight away, and the call is logged in Keystone so you can ring them back.
What your callers hear
Friendly, clear and upfront that it's an AI. It reads details back so nothing gets written down wrong, and it sticks to the answers you've approved.
Emergencies go to the right place
If a caller can smell gas, or anything else sounds like an emergency, the receptionist tells them to ring the emergency line or 999 straight away. It never replaces the emergency services.
AI receptionist
Hi, you've reached Dave's Plumbing. Dave can't get to the phone right now. I'm an AI assistant and this call is transcribed so I can pass on your message. How can I help?
Caller
Hi. My kitchen tap's been dripping all week. Could someone come and look at it?
AI receptionist
Of course. Can I take your name?
Caller
It's Sam.
AI receptionist
Thanks, Sam. What's the postcode for the job?
Caller
NR2 4TF.
AI receptionist
Let me read that back: N R 2, 4 T F. Is that right?
Caller
Yes, that's it.
AI receptionist
Dave has Thursday morning free. Would 9am suit you?
Caller
Perfect.
AI receptionist
Lovely. You're pencilled in for Thursday at 9am, and Dave will confirm by text. I'll also send you a link so you can share a photo of the tap.

Built and supported in Norwich. You can ring us.
Receptionist is made by Arcscribe, a small team in the middle of Norwich. When you have a question, you talk to the people who built it, by phone or on WhatsApp. No call centre, no ticket queue.

On the Receptionist and Pro plans, the AI receptionist tells every caller it's an AI and that the call is transcribed. It takes their details, answers the questions you've approved and pencils jobs into your calendar. If a caller has an emergency, like a gas leak, it tells them to ring the emergency line or 999. It never replaces the emergency services. On Catch there's no AI: callers you miss get a text from you straight away.
Yes. You keep your number and forward the calls you miss to your Arcscribe number. We give you a simple guide for your phone. Moving your number over to us completely (porting) isn't something we offer yet, so ask us if you need it.
Setup normally takes a couple of hours, but can take up to 3 days. A person at Arcscribe sets it up for you: we get your new number, register it with the phone regulator and test it. While you wait, you can set up your greeting, your services and your calendar in Keystone.
Yes, any time, in Keystone. Cancel during the trial and you won't pay anything. On a paid plan, your plan runs to the end of the month or year you've paid for.
